I would just like to proudly say that Pichu’s World turned 6 years old on 28th October 2009.

So, how was the year? Well, I think that the site has mainly been kept alive by all it’s lovely visitors, especially a part of our artistic community and also forum community, which is the main part of the site that has expanded.During the year we also merged with Pikachu’s Hideaway, and then split off again, although we still support each others websites and are now partner sites.

I must say a HUGE thanks all the admin teams for helping me to keep the communities alive and thriving. Thanks to all the admins (no particular order): Anikari, Cliochu, Icy, Pai-tan, Pieon, Pikanyaa, Ranno, Slableye, Twilight, Wolfdoom and Wing.I would like to give a special, special thanks to Slableye and Pikanyaa and Pai-tan who have been the most active admins and very supportive of keeping the forums and oekakis alive respectively. Without the admins helping with not only moderating comments and picture posts, but also helping to run events, support members in any problems they may have and giving me more time to sort out some of the coding on the site.

I also wish to say a word of thanks to my dear and loyal friends, you all know who you are! You have supported me immensely, and I know I can always rely on you guys.

And, of course, where would I be without all the visitors and community members? I have grown so attached to the community, it is my one and only internet ‘home’. Yes, as a community we’ve changed, had our rough patches, but together we are strong, supportive and caring.Let’s hope that our community will grow and develop to become even better for it is the true heart of Pichu’s World.

What changes are going to come?

Well, basically the whole site is being redone. We are going to powered by WordPress to give the site a more dynamic outlook, so pages are going to be added one by one. My apologies that the new site hasn’t been done quicker, but if you’re interested in seeing the old site, it’s still up.

We are going to be changing out main focus toward community and art, so we will no longer be posting game related articles and the like.

I admit that, as a site, we have ‘slowed down’ quite considerably, with fewer pages being added. That’s partly been due to school pressure, but also that I have lost a year and half of my life to a chronic illness which left me too ill to concentrate fully on school, let alone the site. I now realise how precious, and how fragile, life really is and that I never truly valued everything and everyone in my own life. That being said, I have now recovered sufficiently to return to normal life, and to return to working on the site. Thank you to all who have not given up hope in me or the site, and who have continued to support me by talking to me, visiting the site and by just knowing that so many of you are thinking of me. So… let’s get the party started. We are having a fresh start: say hello to the future Pichu’s World which is just around the corner!
